Cloud for Live Broadcast: 3 Real-World Examples

Catch up on our recent webinar and find out how broadcasters are gaining efficiency, flexibility, and reliability with cloud-native, live IP workflows

For the first-ever Cerberus Tech webinar, we focused on a favourite topic: solving real-world problems for live broadcasters using cloud-native, broadcast-first workflows. Instead of walking through Livelink and its features, we took a more practical (and interesting) approach, highlighting three customer scenarios that show how broadcasters and media companies are putting our live IP delivery platform to work.

Did you miss it live? Watch it here:

Efficiency: SPFL Distribution With QTV

Production company QTV uses the Livelink platform in a self-service capacity to distribute Scottish Professional Football League matches to more than 80 destinations worldwide. The challenge? Every taker had different ingest specs, protocols, and requirements. By decoupling inputs from outputs, QTV can ingest a single high-quality mezzanine feed and generate multiple protocol-specific versions — all orchestrated in the cloud and managed by a single operator. That means six matches, 20 feed versions, and 86 destinations can run with just one person at the helm.

Flexibility: Last-Minute Rights Deal for RMG

When RMG secured a last-minute rights deal for Cheltenham Races, Cerberus had just 20 minutes to get a new feed delivered to a brand-new destination. The Livelink platform’s provisioning engine enabled the team to spin up transcoding, configure protocols, apply monitoring, and establish delivery in just a few minutes — with full firewall automation and contact management built in. This flexibility makes it practical to deliver short-notice, high-value live content over IP.

Reliability: Nine Years and Counting With Warner Bros. Discovery

One of our earliest managed service deployments came in 2016 when Discovery needed a reliable way to deliver content to Sri Lanka, outside the footprint of their new satellite transponder. The platform has since grown to support dozens of channels across the region. Built-in monitoring, alerting, and SLA-level uptime (currently 100%) have proven the platform’s resilience. Features like TR 101 290 analysis, jitter and packet loss stats, and custom alert profiles help ensure the same reliability customers expect from traditional fiber and satellite delivery.

These real-world examples show that efficiency, flexibility, and reliability are possible with IP-based live video delivery, and they’re essential outcomes for broadcasters navigating live workflows in a cloud-first world.
