inSight — Custom Dashboards for Live Operations
Turning Operational Data into Actionable Visibility
Modern live video infrastructure generates a continuous stream of operational data such as stream health, device status, workflow state, schedule progress and delivery metrics. The challenge for operations teams is rarely a lack of data. It is the fragmentation of that data across multiple interfaces, tools, and vendor dashboards that creates noise, slows decision-making, and increases the risk of missing something critical during a live event.
inSight is Livelink’s custom dashboard layer, designed to consolidate that visibility into a single, configurable operational interface built around how your team actually works, not around how the platform is structured.
Dashboard Builder
What inSight Does
At its core, inSight is a widget-based canvas environment. Every data point, workflow element, and operational metric available within Livelink can be surfaced as a configurable widget, positioned, sized, and arranged on a blank canvas without writing a line of code or raising an IT request.
Feed status, schedule views, stream health indicators, device metrics, alert states, and workflow summaries can all be combined into a single operational view tailored to a specific team, role, or use case. Dashboards can be as dense or as minimal as the audience requires from a detailed MCR engineering screen displaying every active stream and its transport metrics, to a clean executive summary showing overall platform health at a glance.
Multiple dashboards can be built and maintained in parallel, with access controlled at the individual or role level. The right people see the right information without exposing operational detail that is irrelevant or sensitive to a given audience.
Built for Every Audience in Your Operation
One of the most immediate practical applications of inSight is the ability to create audience-specific views from the same underlying data.
MCR and operations teams benefit from high-density dashboards that surface stream health, active connections, and alert states in real time giving engineers a single screen that replaces the need to navigate multiple platform sections during a live event.
Engineering and technical management teams can build dashboards oriented around infrastructure performance device health, capacity utilisation, and workflow efficiency metrics providing the operational oversight needed to manage complex deployments without being embedded in day-to-day stream management.
For client-facing operations, inSight supports the creation of read-only dashboards that can be published to urls and shared externally giving customers live visibility into their own schedules, stream status, and event progress without requiring platform access or generating support calls. For managed service providers, this capability alone has a measurable impact on operational overhead.
Sharing/Publishing Dashboards
Access Control and Sharing
Dashboard sharing is governed by Livelink’s access control framework. Dashboards can be kept private to individual users, shared within defined team groups, or published as read-only views for external stakeholders. Public dashboard links can be issued without granting broader platform access making client-facing visibility straightforward to implement without compromising platform security or exposing operational infrastructure.
Where inSight Is Headed
The current dashboard capability is the first expression of a broader vision for operational visibility within Livelink. The widget library is actively expanding, and deeper integration with external data sources, pulling metrics from third-party systems and devices alongside native Livelink data is on the near term development roadmap.
The longer-term direction is a genuinely unified operational intelligence layer: one configurable interface that surfaces everything relevant to your operation, regardless of where that data originates.
Applications Beyond Broadcast
The inSight model – configurable, role-based operational dashboards built on live data – has clear utility beyond live video distribution. Any organisation managing distributed systems or time-sensitive workflows can apply the same approach: telecoms network operations, utilities infrastructure monitoring, enterprise IT, or multi-venue sports and live events management.
If the data exists in the platform, it can be surfaced, shaped, and shared through inSight.
