Hockey Puck

The Challenge

Our client, Televideo, was looking for a commercially flexible, reliable and efficient solution to contribute Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) matches from the stadia to their broadcast partners, whilst avoiding expensive fibre and satellite costs.

The matches need to be delivered direct to Freesports, the only free-to-air UK Sports channel available to over 18 million homes.

The Solution

Our Livelink platform offered Televideo a cost-effective and reliable solution to their contribution requirements.

Televideo are able to use their own encoders to contribute directly from the Ice Hockey Arena into Livelink where the feed is then made available to any number of broadcast partners including, if required, delivery to fixed infrastructure such as BBC Sport and BT Tower.

By using Livelink, Televideo were able to deliver their feed to the EIHL broadcast partner at Freesports at a price that met the customer’s budget and with a quick set up. Freesports, being directly connected to Livelink, are able to receive the feed without the need for traditional infrastructure.

The Livelink service includes 24/7/365 support and end-to-end monitoring which adds to the high reliability of our SLA-backed service.
